Debbie Harry & Iggy Pop, Jersey City NJ, 2006. When Debbie Harry and Iggy Pop say they’ll meet you in Jersey City…you show up early.

I’m in New Jersey shooting a video project called Red, Hot, and Blue–a musical tribute benefiting AIDS research. The video was in support of an album of pop icons reinterpreting Cole Porter Songs–aptly named after Cole’s musical “Red, Hot, and Blue” from 1936.

I’ve got Debbie Harry and Iggy Pop on set–yes, that Debbie and Iggy–and like always, we’re moving fast, no time to waste. I’ve always tried to grab an off-set shot for my archive. Don’t get me wrong, my priority on set is to nail the shots we need, no excuses. But my passion pushes me to use that extra 5 seconds to capture something that feels more raw–out of the set, guerilla style. No script, just us, and whatever the environment is around us.

So I get my 5 seconds with Debbie and Iggy, and I’m gonna use it. I’m scanning around for where to shoot to give the image some context when I notice a ‘60s Cadillac convertible parked just down the street. If you know me at all, you know my eyes just lit up, and we made our way over to the serendipitous prop. No permit, no prep–just a perfect grab shot waiting to happen. So I grab it, obviously.

But the real magic happened inside the old Jersey City courthouse–a warm wood staircase, soft light, two legends truly in the moment together. The way they looked at each other, with years of friendship, deep respect, and this shared history–you could feel it all in the frame.

Getting to photograph Debbie Harry and Iggy Pop, together, for such an important cause…it was wild. Easily one of the most memorable moments of my career.

And yeah…Iggy was shirtless most of the time.

Each photograph is produced as an archival pigment print on Canson Platine Fibre Rag paper. All prints are hand-signed by the artist and offered as editioned Artist Proofs (A/P).

Since prints and frames are made on an order basis, prints will ship approximately 2–3 weeks after order is placed regardless of the shipping method chosen. An email will be sent with the tracking information once the print ships. Delivery will regularly take between 3-5 business days.
