Robert Mitchum
Santa Barbara, CA 1988
Robert Mitchum, Santa Barbara CA, 1988. It was early in my career when I shot Robert Mitchum. I was a fan of his movies, and I was just blown away by the opportunity to shoot one of my heroes. I saw an opportunity when I was taking this picture, and it changed the trajectory of my career. I realized I could make a picture, rather than just take a picture. Something took place that I directed visually, compositionally, to really make this picture, and that clicked for me. From that point forward, I realized I was able to control the circumstances, and being able to control the circumstances made me in control of my art. And that came out of a simple photograph like this of one of my heroes.
Each photograph is produced as an archival pigment print on Canson Platine Fibre Rag paper. All prints are hand-signed by the artist and offered as editioned Artist Proofs (A/P).
Since prints and frames are made on an order basis, prints will ship approximately 2–3 weeks after order is placed regardless of the shipping method chosen. An email will be sent with the tracking information once the print ships. Delivery will regularly take between 3-5 business days.
